Nature play education
This week, all classes participated in a 50 minute learning session with an outdoor educator in our new nature play space. The focus was on upskilling our students to engage in safe and creative nature play, whilst looking after the natural environment and construction materials provided. I would encourage you to talk to your children about their involvement in the sessions and ask them about the skills they applied. Please also reinforce the importance of students keeping their footwear on during any nature play activities, including sand play. On the back of these sessions, we are also looking into acquiring a range of suitable nature play materials and loose parts for students to use in this area.
NAIDOC Week
National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) week runs from 8-15 November. The 2020 theme – Always Was, Always Will Be – recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. We will be acknowledging and celebrating NAIDOC week throughout the week and have whole school learning activities on Friday 13 November, including dreamtime stories, painting, cooking and games.

Sports Day – Thursday 19 November (W6)
- Condensed program per T3 plan, finishing at approximately 1.10pm
- Canteen open for over counter sales 1st break; regular lunch orders sent to classes for 1.10-1.20pm eating
- Students returning to classrooms for regular teaching and learning programs from 1.50pm
- One parent/family member per student can attend by completing and returning COVID form by Monday 15 November, signing in on the day and maintaining 1.5m distance whilst on site
- As per COVID protocols, anyone who is unwell on the day should remain home
